The Haywood County Fair is coming September 24–27, and HCDP will be there! With thousands of our neighbors coming through the fair, this is a great chance to meet voters, introduce folks to our candidates, and make sure Democrats have a strong, welcoming presence all weekend long.
We need YOU!
We’re looking for one Event Captain who can take the lead on coordinating our presence throughout the weekend. You don’t have to do everything yourself, we’ll have volunteers to help, but we need one person who can own the event and help keep everything running smoothly. From Hands Off Haywood
Letter writing workshop Part 2
Part 2 of our letter writing workshop will be held Thursday, September 10, 2-4 p.m. at Grace Church in the Mountains, Waynesville (back door). Following the workshop on August 15th on how to add your own voice and experience into letters-to-the-editor of local newspapers, we will share outlines and drafts of letters in the works for feedback and finalizing. No experience needed and you do not need to have attended the first workshop. Please RSVP and bring a hard copy or two of your work in progress for a stimulating and productive session. Waynesville Town Council, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6 p.m., Waynesville Town Hall
Canton Board of Aldermen, 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 6:30 p.m., 855 Summer St. Canton
Clyde Board of Alderman, 2nd Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. Clyde Town Hall
Maggie Valley Board of Alderman, 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at MV Town Hall
Haywood County School Board, second Monday of the month, 7:00 p.m., ITC conference room, at 161 Bryson Street, Waynesville
DEMOCRATIC PARTY MEETINGS:
Senior Dems-last Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m.
Women's Dems--second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
Young Dems--third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
HCDP Exec Committee--May 11th, at 6:30 p.m.
All meetings are held at the Haywood County Democratic Headquarters at 734 N. Main St. (by the roundabout)
